The 2013 vintage was made from Scottish Concerto barley peated to 40ppm which was distilled and then popped into first-fill bourbon barrels for 4 years. In 2017, spirit was re-casked into Pomerol wine casks from Bordeaux’s Right Bank.

Bruichladdich Distillery extends the exceptional range of the Port Charlotte brand with Port Charlotte SC:01. For the first time in this cask series, this bottling contains 100% barley from the island of Islay. The harvest of the barley was carried out in 2011 by seven agricultural partners of the distillery, which are located no more than 10 miles away. The 9-year maturation of the single malt began in hand-selected sherry casks and first- and second-fill American whiskey casks.
