Sure, It's a Lamp.. it's a little quirky.. but this design makes a statement telling your friends you can put stuff together! I spent a few months crafting this design from start to finish. Each piece is carefully thought out to fit in with the Gothic architectural feel.. plus the Flying Buttresses really do work. A great deal of inspiration came from great historical designs, such as Notre Dame Cathedral. Just over 120+ pieces, this 3D Puzzle goes from a flat-pack wood kit to a functional piece of art. The pieces are designed to lock together, but adding some glue in key spots, will stabilize the lamp for daily use. Of course, you can take it all apart and let someone else try. There is a full color pdf build manual free to download from the website if you want to get a feel for how complex the puzzle is. >> New Options. We've updated the packaging of this kit to reflect our attention to detail. The traditional kit offered is still available, now as the Basic Kit. The pieces are packaged together and come with the lamp kit (same as before). The Boxed Set is a whole new idea, where the kit is housed inside a gothic style reusable gift box, making a tidy collection of everything (even the Edison bulb!). This adds about 1lb to the shipping weight and is reflected in the price increase. International customers will need to choose the additional shipping option if they want the Boxed set (being over the limit for regular shipping and bringing it into a new weight class). The Basic Kit is still a good fit with reasonable shipping costs overseas. The material is raw, Birch wood. It comes in 3mm thickness which is ideal for the detail shown. The nature of laser cut designs leaves a darkened edge, but it adds texture to the design. Feel free to finish the wood yourself in a stain or paint that suits your taste. The puzzle does include light kit, with cord already assembled. The boxed set is complete with an Edison bulb. The lamp stands about 16 tall, and is about 10 in diameter. There are small pieces involved, so use caution with young ones. It's a perfect conversational piece for any room, or makes a cozy nightlight on your dresser. The overall design does continue to evolve. There may be slight detail differences in your kit, but you can be sure it's for the best. Your order will be the latest design, so expect 1-2 weeks to be cut and shipped out to you. Your feedback is always encouraged! **Shipping worldwide is not a problem. The lamp cord kit that is included is a standard size, made by Ikea. If you need 220vt in your country, you might look for a replacement cord kit in your area, or just simply use an adapter.
