This adapter features a 4p4c (RJ9) male plug and a USB 2.1 Type A female connector compatible with many USB wired headsets, from brands such as Poly (formerly Plantronics & Polycom), Jabra, Cisco, Sennheiser and others. It can be used to mate wired headsets that feature a USB Type A Male plug to VoIP and business phones that have RJ9 headset jacks. (normally identified with with a symbol that resembles a headset or handset) This adapter works with many different headsets and phone models. However, it is outside our ability to test for compatibility for all the various combinations of both, given the multitude of available phones on the market place. We have sold thousands of these to many satisfied customers over the years. It is possible that certain models will require additional configuration either by manually adjusting a dial or switch on the device, or adjusting a setting with in the menu or settings on the device. The following is some basic information that might help you determine if this adapter the right one for application. 4P4C and 4P2C for handset & headset cables (more often referred to as RJ9, RJ10, and RJ22) 4P4C = 4 Position 4 Conductor – 4P2C = 4 Position 2 Conductor THESE SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH ; 6P2C for single telephone line (commonly referred to as RJ11), 6P4C for two telephone lines (commonly referred to as RJ12 or RJ14), or 6P6C for three telephone lines (commonly referred to as RJ25). The USB (ver. 1 & 2) Type-A connector is the familiar rectangle and is intended to connect directly to a host or hub. It was designed to fit into its socket in only one possible orientation, while cables were intended to have a Type A connector only at one end so that power could flow in only one direction.
