The Sharpening Guide Clip (or Angle) helps to maintain the same sharpening angle while sharpening your knife, as seen on the product pictures. The purpose of the soft plastic on the inner side of the clip is to prevent the blade from getting damaged, while a special ceramic cover enables smooth sliding on the whetstone without damaging it.
