Time-delay ceramic fuses tolerate temporary inrush currents without opening, which prevents nuisance-blowing from equipment startups. Also called slow-blow ceramic fuses, they open to disconnect an electrical circuit when exposed to sustained loads and short circuits. Ceramic fuses protect against overcurrent in high-current circuits found in AC or DC electronics, appliances, and electrical equipment. They have higher interrupting ratings and withstand higher temperatures than glass fuses.
